What is Mineral – A Mineral is a naturally occurring inorganic solid which have definite chemical composition and ordered internal structure. The huge sandy expanse of Rajasthan is rich in the white and bright calcite (basically used as a construction material), rock phosphate (to make organic manure), marble, sandstone and serpentine (green marble), dolomite, emeralds, Wollastonite (used primarily in ceramics, plastics and as a paint filler), lead, zinc, silver and gypsum.
Rajasthan is the second largest mineral producing state in India and houses about 90% of the total mineral reserves of the country. It shares 25% of the aggregate national production of non-metallic minerals. Mineral Mining in Rajasthan is eminent sector where 42 major & 28 minor minerals found.
